According to ABC News, Wesley Hosie and his girlfriend Jessica White decided to buy a 700-gram jar of jelly beans from the Jelly Bean Factory.

Hosie states:

“As Jessica opened the jar, I saw her immediately. She was literally lying there staring back at me”.

While many are claiming that this is a “miracle”, the Jelly Bean Factory claims it may be due to coincidence considering all of their beans are handmade.

“All of our beans are handmade and this looks like one of our red speckled Mango beans, the natural speckles are unique to each and every jelly bean due to the handmade process.”

The couple has decided to take advantage of this opportunity, and perfect timing might I add, and sell the bean on eBay! This bean isn’t going for $50, $100, or even anywhere in that ballpark. Starting bids for this bean is starting at almost $1,000! Given that the wedding is in such a short time, they are hoping to sell the bean to a collector who is willing to spend their money and value their extraordinary find.

I find this to be extremely ironic. I wonder if the bean were to be found at any other time if it would be so expensive? Or if it would even be that big of a deal. Royal wedding frenzy is in full force, and I’m guessing the couple will receive a lot more than $1000.

I have to admit it, it does kind of look like her. Weird! What do YOU think?

Sure, the show is hilarious, and it is worth watching, but should they really be making $100,000 an episode? Did I mention the next season will be filmed in Italy? A pay raise and a vacation? I think it’s safe to say I envy them.

According to perezhilton.com, along with all of the money the cast makes outside of the show through appearances and product endorsements, the cast will be making a whopping $100,000 dollars per episode. A season usually has 12 episodes, so each cast member will officially be making $1,200,000 after the season ends. Seriously?!

The cast already makes millions of dollars a year. The Situation’s annual income is about $5,000,000. That number could possibly double by the end of 2011. While I am a huge fan of the show, I don’t really find it necessary for them to be making that much money. They aren’t celebrities. They are literally just going out and partying and getting paid for it.

They get to do whatever the want and they basically get praised, even when they are out having sex with millions of people and are getting arrested. It’s a bizarre concept to me I guess. Whatever they are doing, it’s working. People can’t get enough of them. This is said to be the last season of the Jersey Shore, but Snooki, Jowoww, and Pauly D all currently have spin-off’s scheduled to premier in 2012. The rest of the cast has plenty of endorsement deals and I’m sure we will be seeing more of them as well.

Guess they will just keep on getting richer!

According to Cocoperez, Marc Ecko’s new campaign is nothing short of desperate. According to the brand, Ecko is offering customer’s 20% off for life if they get a tattoo of the brand’s rhino or scissors. The tattoo must be permanent and can only be used in the United States and Puerto Rico. Im sure to some, this is a great idea. Especially if you love the brand and their clothing. There are potential downsides though.

What happens if Marc Ecko goes out of business? Then you are stuck with a random tattoo on your body that has no sentimental meaning. Getting the tattoo will probably cost more money than what you will save on buying their clothes. Also, many places such as TJ Maxx and Marshalls are discounted department stores, who sell Marc Ecko’s brand, and who also have many sales.

Basically, getting the tattoo is a complete waste. This seems like nothing but a publicity stunt to me! But, it is working. I’ve heard about this brand, but I’ve never wanted to go out and buy their clothing. It makes me, and I’m sure many others, see what this brand has to offer. Would someone actually love this brand so much to actually tattoo it permanently on themselves?

In my opinion, save yourself the pain, the money, and the embarrassment.

Since then, Chris has completed anger management, community service, and has been put on 4 years of probation. He has been apologetic for his wrong doings, and even a judge at one of his hearings applauded him on his improvement. He’s been low-key and has stayed out of trouble, until yesterday that is.

He just released his highly anticipated album F.A.M.E (Forgiving All OF My Enemies)  and has begun doing various appearances to help promote it. He appeared on Good Morning America yesterday, and seemed very agitated with every question that the reporter asked him, especially questions that had to do with the Rihanna case. You could tell things were getting ugly, it was almost awkward to watch. After his scheduled performance, he stormed off set, ripped his shirt off, trashed dressing room, and even broke a window.

He later tweeted:

“I’m so over people bringing this past s**t up!!! Yet we praise Charlie sheen and other celebs for there [sic] bulls**t.”

While I can agree and somewhat sympathize with him wanting people to move on and to start fresh, maybe he should stop throwing temper tantrums and show some respect to others. What is interesting about this incident is that Chris had O.K’ed the questions that were going to be asked, and the reporter had even been to his home and had interviewed him previously. If he wants people to “forgive and forget” maybe he should prove to other’s that he has changed. So far he’s done nothing but the opposite, and that is very disappointing.

Right now would have been a great opportunity for him to show other’s his growth and maturity. It sure would have helped with album sales too.

Im not one to say I know everything about politics, I’m actually far from it. Or that I know what’s best for our country, but it is something that interests me. I worked at the Illinois State capital as a Senate page in high school, and I did vote in our previous election. I definitely want to be an involved citizen and really understand whats going on in our country.

As I was reading perezhilton today, I came across a story about Donald Trump. I usually don’t pay attention to any headlines or news about him. He’s not really my cup of tea, but something else did catch my eye. Running for president was splattered straight across the story. I knew this was something I had to read.

Turns out that the Trump has thought about running for president in the past, but this time he’s serious about it. So serious that he’s willing to put $600 million dollars into his campaign and he’s even scheduling appearances in key campaign states. ABC News also just did an interview with him, and of course he was wearing nothing but red, white, and blue. Go figure.

Is he a powerful man? Yes. There’s absolutely no doubt about that. He has got to be intelligent too for all that he has accomplished, but I don’t see him as our next president. He is constantly picking fights with celebrities such as Rosie O’Donnell, but stands up for someone like Charlie Sheen? That’s interesting to me.

I think he needs to start focusing on how to make our country a better place instead of focusing on celebrities if he wants to run it! He really needs to step up and maybe apologize for some of his mistakes and then prove to us that he has the abilities to run our country.

In my personal opinion, she could not be more dead on with this definition. If you are wondering who the Salahi’s are, they are Michaele and Tareq, and they infamously crashed the White House’s State Dinner in 2009. They have of course denied this allegation saying that they were invited, but they have no proof of that what-so-ever. They have no invitation, email, or any person working for the White House to say that they were invited. This is currently under investigation and they could be prosecuted for their wrong doings.

Both Michaele and Tareq were considered to be the “pure crazies” on their season of the show. They were disliked by many, if not all of their cast mates, and they never seem to own up to any of their wrong doings. Even if the situation has something to do with friends, family, etc, they are always the victims. They were also accused of lying on their audition tape for the show and even used someone else’s house and belongings. Something isn’t right here.

Since the show’s finale a couple of months ago, we haven’t heard too much from the Salahi’s–until a couple of days ago when they announced that they would BOTH be joining VH1′s Celebrity Rehab. As I heard this news, I thought to myself, what on earth could they be going to rehab for? This is purely nothing but a publicity stunt. Then I thought, why not give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they actually do have problems, and that would certainly not be surprising.

As I was watching E! Network Television today, I heard the reporter say something about Michaele Salahi, I thought this ought to be good. As I listened they stated that Michaele was no longer with the cast of Celebrity Rehab. Why you ask? Because she doesn’t even need it! A rep for the Salahi’s stated that she wanted Dr. Drew to be able to assist her about everything that she has been through within the past year. I do think that it is a positive direction for her to seek help, but maybe she should go see a therapist. Celebrity Rehab is for those who have serious drug, alcohol, and other serious mental conditions.

Of course the Salahi’s are fighting back, claiming they are being victimized once again.Tareq sent out a public statement today saying,”You know, we can show you a bunch of emails about what they wanted her to pretend to be, therefore, but that’s going to come out later on with one of the major networks.”

Wow, doesn’t that sound familiar.

Sorry Salahi’s, but I think you’re fifteen minutes of fame are about up.

Turns out this whole fairytale lifestyle all skewed from Kim Kardashian’s sex tape with rapper and R&B singer Ray J. The tape was released from Vivid Entertainment in 2007. Even though Kim and her family were devastated that something so personal and something that was obviously a laps in judgment was released to the public, Kris Jenner knew how to take advantage of their 15 minutes of fame. A couple weeks later Ryan Secrest called and the Keeping Up with the Kardashian’s began. The show was an instant hit. They are a huge, not to mention attractive family, who are surprisingly normal and hilarious.

After their show aired, a lot of other endorsements and TV shows followed. Both Kim and Kris are models for Sketcher’s, they came out with a bestselling book called Kardashian Konfidential, both Kim and Khole came out with fragrances, and opened their own boutique, Dash. They can also charge up to $100,000 to $300,000 for appearances, and even up to $1,000,000 if they go international. They are also the number one choice for magazine covers right now. Magazine covers, photo shoots, interviews and even staged photos can make them earn up to thousands. Other TV shows include Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, and their newest series Kourtney and Kim Take New York. Even a show about Khloe and her LA Lakers husband Lamar Odem is in the works.

It’s safe to say this family isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. With all of the endorsements, photo shoots and TV shows they do, they are constantly getting publicity. Not to mention it’s always GOOD publicity. People love that they are filthy rich, but surprisingly humble. They deal with every day issues and drama that the regular family has to deal with, and I think that’s what makes them so appealing to everyone.

Lindsay has denied this allegation. She states that she simply took the necklace out on a loan. I would usually give someone the benefit of the doubt, especially after all she’s been through recently. She’s an extremely well known actress and I’m sure a lot of people are out to get her money. Not to mention with her not- so -clean record, she is an easy target.

The first question that comes to my mind is, “She’s filthy rich, she doesn’t have to steal the necklace! She can just buy it”. But, this isn’t the first time Lindsay has been accused of stealing. She has been accused of stealing a 12,000 mink coat from an NYC nightclub in 2008, a $400,000 necklace from an Elle magazine photo shoot in 2009, and a $35,000 Rolex watch from a friend in 2010.

She should know better. Just because she’s a celebrity doesn’t mean she can just do as she pleases and not follow laws. She’s human and will have to face the consequences just like everyone else. Although, I really do hope that these allegations are false. No matter how much she’s been through, she is an extremely talented actress. It’s unfortunate and sad that all of these allegations have surfaced. Her and her family are devestated.

Right now would have been the perfect time to prove everyone wrong and get her career back on the right track. She’s getting enormous amounts of publicity right now and everyone is watching to see what she’ll do next. Im sure a lot of great opportunities could have been heading her way.

Lindsay was charged with the felony of grand theft this afternoon and if convicted she could face up to three years in a state prison.

He is considered to be the ultimate triple threat. His career started back in 2006 when he started uploading videos of himself singing, dancing, and playing instruments on youtube. He then met the R&B icon Usher, who then became his mentor.

Justin is a great dancer, singer, and actor.  He has already had a platinum album, became the first artist to have seven songs from a debut album appear on the Billboard Hot 100, has won numerous substantial awards, and has appeared on Saturday night live. The kid definitely has a very bright future ahead of him.

His latest endeavor is a film on the big screen. Guess who the entire movie is about? Himself. Did I mention the movie is in 3D?  Viewers get a backstage pass to his life and to his amazing concerts. This has millions of dollars written all over it. Kids, teenagers,and many adults are going to be lining up to see this movie. It’s a great idea if you cannot afford a $120 ticket to an actual performance.

Not only do you get to see what a concert of his is like, but also what kind of a person he is when he’s not in the spotlight. Home videos and interviews will also be shown. Never Say Never hits movie theater’s on February 11th, 2011.

The End is Near

These few weeks left are going to be rough! I do find myself having little to no motivation and it is so hard to resist from being outside. It’s so beautiful out and I want to enjoy it! Like you said, the only motivation that I have is the fact that the end is near. Knowing I’ve put a lot of hard work into my classes this semester, I would be extremely disappointed in myself if I ruined that because of my laziness! Unfortunately, I’m a people watcher, so I can’t go outside and study or sometimes even go to the library! I spend to much time looking at my surroundings than the actual books themselves. Guess I’ll just have to coop myself up in my room these last couple weeks! Thanks for the tips, I will definitely be taking advantage of them.

Will American Idol Last?

I don’t watch American Idol very often, and I truly thought that after this season the show would be canceled. Especially after not only Paula left but also Simon. I have been proven wrong though. I watch E! news all the time and they are constantly saying that this season is the biggest yet. More people are tuning in than ever and I think they have Steven Tyler and JLo to thank for that. Like I said, I don’t really watch the show, but I will commend them for their choice of contestants. They really do have great talent, and Carrie Underwood is one of my favorite artists. I have a feeling this show isn’t going anywhere for a long time

Another Teen Mom Arrested

When I watch Janelle on Teen Mom I cringe. She is so disrespectful to her mother. The things she says to her mom are so hurtful, I could never imagine talking to my mom like that. Her mom is basically raising Janelle’s son Jace by herself. And, after everything she has put her mom through, her mother still allows her to live in her home. Janelle should be grateful to her, instead she is nothing but rude. Janelle should be using this time to prove people wrong. She should prove that she’s a good mother and cares about her family. She’s been arrested numerous times over the past couple months. She should really get her act together before she loses her son for good.

March 18, 2011 at 5:28 am- I totally don’t understand why some celebrities are making jokes about the tragedy in Japan. 50 cent, Gilbert Gottfried, Joan Rivers, and others have all made distasteful jokes. It baffles me. What if something were to happen like that here? Would they be making jokes then? I realize they might be trying to make light of the situation, but that is truly just immature and arrogant. I respect people like Sandra Bullock, who just donated 1 million dollars to Japan relief and Lady Gaga has also made wrists bands to make money to donate.

I couldn’t agree with you more! I think it’s easy for the public to judge celebrities who get out of control. People only see it from an outsiders point of view, and I too have wondered how some celebrities get so off track. Reading your post really made me start to think, and sympathize for those celebrities. It’s flat out hard to say no, especially when the goal is to have great time. And not to mention, who doesn’t like things that are free? I can definitely see myself taking advantage of those situations if I were them. They are human too and sometimes mistakes are going to be made. No one is perfect and I think the public forgets that when it comes to celebrities. We need to be more forgiving. On another note, sounds like you had an amazing birthday! Hope it was just as good if not better than your 21st!

St Louis Cardinals Confirm New Deadline to Sign Pujols

Even though I am a Cubs fan and would LOVE for Pujols to sign a contract with another team, especially the Cubs, it is probably in his best interest to stay with the St. Louis Cardinals. He has many loyal fans and really is such a great role model to many people. It’s unfortunate, but I really could see his career going south if he were to join another team. Even though I am sure his amazing athletic abilities will continue to be the same, he will lose a lot of respect from his fans. This made me think of Sammy Sosa and Mark McGuire. No one hears about them anymore and I can easily see this happening to Pujols. I just feel like the saying “If it aint broke then don’t fix it” applies to this situation. Pujols is just fine where he is. If he’s looking for more money then maybe he’s not the great person that everyone thinks he is?

It’s refreshing to see women of all shapes, sizes, and colors being covergirl’s. It not only gives me hope, but also every other teenager, young adult, and adult in the world. I am nowhere near perfect and I greatly appreciate seeing a wide variety of women being chosen as models for their campaign. It’s disheartening to see a size 0 model being the spokesperson for every brand name. It’s also great to see women of all ages considered to be modes! Not every model is a 14 year old. Older women like makeup and like to look great too! Not to mention it’s a great way for Covergirl to make money. Women of all ages will buy their products, and they will receive great and well known credibility. I also couldn’t agree with you more about the plastic surgery ordeal. If you had plastic surgery it’s fine, just own up to it! Don’t make others feel like they aren’t as good as you, especially if you are secretly just as insecure as everyone else.

Jan 26, 2011 @ 23:36:41. I couldn’t agree with you more Megan! I too think Skins is a little to inappropriate for MTV. I remember watching MTV when I was seven years old and they were definitely not playing shows like this. Sure times have changed and so have I, but I still don’t think its right. I hate how the producers of this show are saying “this is an honest portrayal of a teenager’s life”. I think that that statement is FAR from the truth. Sure, in high school some people were sexually active and did partake in drugs, but it’s not like that for every teenager. And I don’t think all teens are having threesomes, making agreements for sex, and crashing Escalade’s into lakes on a daily basis. I think this show is over exaggerating…a lot.

One Semester Down and Too Many More to Go

If it helps you at all Laynie I know exactly how you feel! I am also from a small town in Central Illinois and I too am still best friends with the people I have known for the majority of my life. My first year here at SIUE was tough for me. I didn’t know if I’d be able to find that same bond with people here that I have with my friends from home. I found myself going home every weekend and it was always extremely hard for me to come back. All I can say is become as involved in things as you can. Go to whatever you can and meet people with similar interests! I’m so thankful that you joined AST and that I had met you previously to this course. You are amazing and will succeed with everything you do! I have no doubts.
